QuiX Quantum has launched the Bia Quantum Cloud Computing Service, a photonic system natively designed to tackle complex problems including Boson Sampling, Quantum random walks and Quantum Monte Carlo simulations. The new service provides businesses and research institutions with direct access to quantum computing while QuiX Quantum develops its universal quantum computer. “We’re committed to both the near-term impact of quantum computing and the long-term goal of reshaping entire industries,” said Dr.-Ing.
Stefan Hengesbach, CEO of QuiX Quantum. QMware’s integration with QuiX Quantum’s photonic processor in Enschede delivers access to technology, supporting both current and future quantum algorithms.
Bia Service Enables Near-Term Quantum Simulation and Optimization
This specialization distinguishes the system from attempts at building broadly applicable, general-purpose quantum computers, focusing instead on delivering immediate value for particular research areas. The system’s architecture, combining quantum hardware with remote classical computing infrastructure, extends its capabilities to optimization problems and simulations relevant to diverse industries, QuiX Quantum says. Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) algorithms are central to Bia’s approach to these industrial applications, allowing the computer to address complex simulations and optimization tasks.
The system integrates a single-photon generation module capable of producing up to four simultaneous input photons, a quantum processing unit currently operating with 12 channels and scalable to 20, and a light detection module with up to 20 detectors. This hardware is coupled with advanced quantum control software, creating a complete system for near-term quantum computation.
The launch of Bia builds on QuiX Quantum’s position as a European leader in photonic quantum computing hardware, with the first system already sold and contracted for delivery. The company’s five European offices support a growing global customer base, and its technological foundation is intended to facilitate the construction of increasingly powerful quantum computers.
QMware, a provider of hybrid quantum computing cloud services, blends high-performance computing with advanced quantum resources, using quantum hypervisor technology to select the most appropriate computing system, classical or quantum, for each task. This approach positions QMware as a key enabler of early quantum computing solutions, responding to the increasing demand for enhanced computing performance in fields like optimization, simulation and machine learning.
We’re committed to both the near-term impact of quantum computing and the long-term goal of reshaping entire industries.
