IQST backs events for the next quantum innovators

IQST is backing two upcoming events designed to immerse students in quantum science and technology. Qiskit Fall Fest 2026, running November 9 to 11 in Stuttgart and InnovateU: The Campus Hackathon, November 20-21 in Ulm, will offer hands-on experience and interdisciplinary collaboration for students, researchers and quantum enthusiasts. IQST aims to support these initiatives. At Qiskit Fall Fest, IQST General Manager and Graduate School Manager Dr. Cristiano Guttà will present the Center’s research activities and opportunities for students.

Qiskit Fall Fest 2026: Quantum Computing Workshops and Cloud Celebration

Qiskit Fall Fest 2026 will convene in Stuttgart from November 9 to 11. The three-day event, hosted jointly by the University of Stuttgart and the Innovation Studio in Ehnningen, combines technical workshops with opportunities for networking and exploration of current research. Organizers designed the festival to bring together students, researchers and quantum computing enthusiasts for hands-on learning and collaborative challenges.

The event’s organising team also includes Afonso Azenha and Sara Karouaz, PhD students of the IQST Graduate School @QuantumBW, who are helping bring this student-led initiative to life. Laboratory visits and a panel discussion are also planned, offering attendees a broad view of the quantum field. This year’s edition also celebrates ten years of quantum computing on the cloud. Detailed program information and registration details are available on the Qiskit Fall Fest website.

Rusty is a quantum science nerd. He's been into academic science all his life, but spent his formative years doing less academic things. Now he turns his attention to write about his passion, the quantum realm. He loves all things Quantum Physics especially. Rusty likes the more esoteric side of Quantum Computing and the Quantum world. Everything from Quantum Entanglement to Quantum Physics. Rusty thinks that we are in the 1950s quantum equivalent of the classical computing world. While other quantum journalists focus on IBM's latest chip or which startup just raised $50 million, Rusty's over here writing 3,000-word deep dives on whether quantum entanglement might explain why you sometimes think about someone right before they text you. (Spoiler: it doesn't, but the exploration is fascinating)
