Revolut launches research unit to build its own AI models

Revolut has launched Revolut Research, a new unit dedicated to building its own artificial intelligence models. Unlike competitors integrating existing models, Revolut is investing in-house research and proprietary foundation models designed for global scale, beginning with a project called PRAGMA in collaboration with NVIDIA. “In financial services, real differentiation comes from owning the research and infrastructure—not just layering AI on top,” the company states, signaling a commitment to fundamental development rather than superficial additions. Revolut aims to actively engineer the future of finance with this new initiative.

Look forward to seeing it coming to fruition!” Abdulazeez Adebowale inquired about potential integration within the Revolut Business suite, highlighting early interest in the practical applications of this research. The Human AI Institute offered congratulations and suggested consideration of Enterprise-wide AI Risk Management as part of the research agenda, indicating a broader industry awareness of responsible AI implementation.
