QIC’s Lisa Lambert Concludes Tenure, TRIUMF’s Sean Lee Takes Interim Role

Quantum Industry Canada (QIC) is entering a new phase with the departure of its inaugural CEO, Lisa Lambert, who steered the organization from its earliest stages to a nationally recognized industry consortium. Effective June 29, Sean Lee of TRIUMF will simultaneously serve as QIC’s Acting CEO while continuing his existing duties as Chief of Staff and Division Director at TRIUMF, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining momentum during the leadership transition. Lambert will remain engaged as a Strategic Advisor, ensuring a planned handover after leading QIC through a period of significant growth and establishing its influence within Canada’s quantum sector. “The QIC board is extremely grateful to Lisa Lambert for what she accomplished during her tenure,” said Alexandra Daoud, Chair of the Board of Directors of QIC, recognizing Lambert’s success in building a strong foundation for the organization.

Lisa Lambert Concludes Tenure, Driving QIC’s Early Growth

Lisa Lambert’s departure from Quantum Industry Canada (QIC) at the end of June marks the end of an era for the organization she built from its inception. She served as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer and steered it toward national prominence. Since joining QIC, Lambert oversaw a period of substantial growth, successfully transforming the fledgling entity into a nationally recognized industry consortium and an internationally respected voice for Canada’s quantum sector. She not only established QIC’s foundational operations but also expanded its programs, cultivated key partnerships, and broadened its influence across government, defense, investment, and research spheres. The Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, emphasized QIC’s ongoing importance, stating, “Quantum Industry Canada has become a key national platform for advancing Canada’s quantum ambitions.” Lambert herself expressed pride in the community she helped foster, noting, “It has been the privilege of a lifetime to help build QIC alongside such an extraordinary community.”

She stewarded QIC’s growth into a trusted and respected organization with a clear mission, strong relationships, and growing influence.

This dual commitment suggests a concentrated effort to ensure operational continuity during the search for a permanent successor. Lee brings over fifteen years of experience in science and innovation policy, stakeholder engagement, and organizational strategy, having fostered partnerships across multiple sectors.

At a time when quantum technologies are becoming increasingly important to economic growth, security, and technological leadership, QIC plays an increasingly important role in helping Canada seize the opportunities ahead.
