PsiQuantum and Brookhaven Lab build tools for future quantum computers

Brookhaven National Laboratory scientists will research new quantum algorithms using Construct, a software platform developed by PsiQuantum, in a collaboration designed to accelerate development of fault-tolerant quantum computers. The partnership supports the U.S. Department of Energy’s Quantum Genesis initiative, which aims to deploy a scientifically relevant quantum computing capability for research and development by 2028.

“This is a good example of such a collaboration,” said Gabriella Carini, Associate Laboratory Director for Discovery Technologies at Brookhaven Lab, emphasizing the innovative partnerships required by the DOE initiative, linking national labs, industry, academia, and government. PsiQuantum reports Construct is now freely available to help researchers design and optimize quantum circuits.

Construct Platform Supports Fault-Tolerant Algorithm Development

PsiQuantum’s Construct software platform is designed to facilitate the creation of fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, computational procedures intended for future utility-scale quantum computers. Developed over several years by PsiQuantum’s quantum applications team, Construct provides a suite of tools for algorithm development aimed at solving complex quantum application challenges, the company says. The platform was released as a free and open-access resource in May 2026, enabling researchers to design quantum circuits, simulate algorithms, and optimize resource allocation.

Brookhaven National Laboratory intends to utilize Construct to research new algorithms and applications, directly supporting the U.S. This collaboration between PsiQuantum and Brookhaven Lab exemplifies the public-private partnerships essential for accelerating scientific discovery. Fault-tolerant algorithms hold potential for advancements in fields including materials science, pharmaceutical research, and cryptography.
