SpinQ Says it Secures RMB 1 Billion (approx $150M) to Build Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computers

SpinQ Technology Inc. has secured RMB 1 billion in Series D funding, bringing the Chinese quantum computing company’s total investment over the last six months to RMB 2 billion. CICC Capital, Shenzhen TopoScend Capital, Shanghai Semiconductor Industry Investment, AVIC Honghua, and Shanghai SEARI Private Equity Investment Management backed the round, signaling confidence in SpinQ’s approach to building practical quantum computers. The new capital will accelerate development of fault-tolerant general-purpose quantum computers, with a focus on hardware-software integration and large-scale commercialization. “Quantum computing requires long-term commitment, sustained investment, and deep system-level engineering capabilities,” said Dr. Xiang Jingen, Founder and CEO of SpinQ, as the company expands its exploration of combining quantum computing with supercomputing, intelligent computing, and artificial intelligence.

SpinQ Secures RMB 1 Billion Series D for Fault-Tolerance

SpinQ is prioritizing system stability and error correction beyond increasing qubit counts, areas increasingly recognized as crucial for practical quantum computation. The company reports acceptance of its research on cascaded quantum Hamming code decoding by QCE and is actively validating d=3 surface-code quantum error correction, indicating progress toward mitigating the inherent instability of quantum states. SpinQ has also established a fully integrated, in-house superconducting quantum chip research and development and pilot production line in Shenzhen, encompassing all stages from chip design and fabrication to packaging and testing; the company recently completed tape-out, packaging, and validation of new-generation 25-qubit and 103-qubit superconducting quantum chips.

SpinQ’s ambitions extend beyond isolated quantum processing units, with the company exploring the convergence of quantum computing, supercomputing, and intelligent computing, as well as Quantum + AI integration.
