Carahsoft to distribute Quantum XChange’s FIPS-validated platform

Quantum XChange has partnered with Carahsoft to accelerate the deployment of its FIPS 140-3 and FIPS 203 validated Phio TX cryptographic management platform across the US public sector. The collaboration aims to address the growing threat of “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” attacks, where data is intercepted for future decryption with quantum computers. “Government agencies need to move quickly on post-quantum migration,” says Eddy Zervigon, CEO of Quantum XChange. Phio TX uniquely allows agencies to upgrade cryptographic methods without network downtime, offering an audit-ready path to meet evolving security standards.

Phio TX Platform Enables FIPS-Validated Quantum-Safe Cryptography

Phio TX distinguishes itself from other post-quantum cryptography solutions through its successful validation under both FIPS 203, specifically the ML-KEM standard via NIST CAVP certificate 6060, and FIPS 140-3, a NIST CMVP 4850 certification. This dual validation confirms the platform meets stringent security requirements, offering a level of assurance for agencies handling sensitive data and is a key component of Quantum Xchange’s approach to cryptographic agility.

The company’s platform can be deployed in cloud, virtual container or on-premises form, offering flexibility for diverse IT infrastructures. The platform’s architecture allows agencies to adopt post-quantum cryptography within existing network environments, avoiding costly and disruptive overhauls, and providing the flexibility to adapt as security standards evolve, a critical feature given the rapid changes in quantum computing.

Phio TX achieves operational deployment in days without adding latency, a significant advantage over solutions requiring extensive network reconfiguration or hardware upgrades, and separates key delivery from data transmission to mitigate risks. Eddy Zervigon, CEO of Quantum Xchange, emphasizes that the issue extends beyond mathematical challenges, stating, “Post-quantum cryptography is not a math problem, it’s an architecture problem.” The company’s platform supports multiple key sources, including post-quantum cryptography, quantum key distribution, and classical encryption, all under unified policy control, and is designed to help agencies comply with Executive Order 14412 and OMB Memorandum M-26-15. Meraw added that Quantum XChange’s platform equips agencies with the tools they need to move confidently from post-quantum planning to deployment.

Government agencies need to move quickly on post-quantum migration, as the mandates are here and ‘Harvest Now, Decrypt Later’ is already an active threat.
