izmo Microsystems is showcasing functional quantum infrastructure components currently in production, a surprising step for a technology often discussed as future-focused. The company reports being the first in India to handle the specialized packaging needed to transform photonic integrated circuits into modules, previously limited to facilities outside the country. These modules include a Quantum Random Number Generator and a Quantum Key Distribution module packaged for Pramatra, alongside a Thin-Film Lithium Niobate modulator for CCRAFT.

This capability positions the company uniquely within India’s burgeoning semiconductor landscape, as functional quantum modules are typically presented as future developments rather than commercially available products. The modules represent a tangible step toward integrating quantum technologies into existing data center infrastructure, addressing growing needs for enhanced security and computational power. This achievement involved establishing in-house expertise in package design, precision assembly, and full-scale manufacturing, allowing izmo Microsystems to support clients throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial prototyping to commercial production runs, the company says.
A Thin-Film Lithium Niobate modulator, packaged for CCRAFT, further exemplifies izmo Microsystems’ ability to work with advanced materials and cater to specific client requirements within the silicon photonics sector. Beyond quantum applications, izmo Microsystems is also previewing an optical transceiver portfolio slated for commercial release in 2027.
This portfolio is designed to address the escalating demand for high-speed, energy-efficient optical connectivity driven by the expansion of AI clusters and cloud infrastructure investments in India from major hyperscalers including AWS, Microsoft, and Google. The global optical transceiver market, projected to exceed US$30 billion by 2030 according to Research and Markets, is fueling this demand, and izmo Microsystems aims to capture a portion of this growth with its domestically manufactured solutions.
