Acceleronix, IDEMIA and Orange offer single-SKU quantum-safe eSIMs

Acceleronix, IDEMIA Secure Transactions, and Orange will demonstrate a solution at electronica 2026 enabling single-SKU manufacturing of quantum-safe eSIMs; the live demonstration runs from November 10 to 13 at Messe München, Hall C2, Stand 601, the company says. The collaboration addresses a vulnerability in current connected devices by protecting operator credentials throughout production with quantum-safe binding. “With IFPP, connectivity becomes a production setting, made on the line, as late as the order allows,” says Gal Olshinka, Director, Acceleronix, signaling a shift toward simplified device manufacturing and reduced inventory.

Quantum-Safe IFPP Enables Single-SKU Device Manufacturing

Single-SKU manufacturing becomes a reality with the In-Factory Profile Provisioning program, eliminating the need for regional hardware variations and streamlining device production. This approach allows device manufacturers to build a single hardware platform for global distribution, reducing the amount of stock tied up in different configurations and simplifying logistics.

Acceleronix provides the IFPP Loader and factory orchestration tools that integrate directly into existing production lines, ensuring full traceability for each device as it receives its connectivity profile. The security of operator credentials throughout the manufacturing process is bolstered by quantum-safe binding, a key feature of the IFPP program.

IDEMIA Secure Transactions contributes its expertise in eSIM security, protecting mobile network operator credentials beyond their traditional secure environments, according to the company. “As connected devices become smaller and more power-constrained, avoiding unnecessary in-field profile downloads becomes increasingly important,” said Philippe De Oliveira, SVP Auto/IoT Connectivity Services at IDEMIA Secure Transactions.

“With IFPP, IDEMIA Secure Transactions brings its eSIM security expertise to both MNOs and device manufacturers: our quantum-safe profile management solution protects MNO credentials beyond their secure environment, while giving manufacturers greater flexibility in how they provision connected devices, across eSIM form factors.” Orange extends the benefits of this system by supplying operator profiles and managed IoT global connectivity through its network and roaming partners. This ensures that devices are connected from the moment they are powered on, removing a significant barrier for IoT manufacturers and expanding the potential applications of cellular connectivity.

Acceleronix, IDEMIA, and Orange Facilitate In-Factory eSIM Provisioning

The collaboration between Acceleronix, IDEMIA Secure Transactions and Orange extends beyond initial program launch, now incorporating a leading global telecom operator to facilitate single-SKU device manufacturing. Orange joins the In-Factory Profile Provisioning program, building on the GSMA SGP.41 framework and existing eSIM IoT infrastructure, allowing original equipment manufacturers to deploy the solution immediately.

This approach allows for upgrades to the more detailed SGP.42 specification once published, providing a pathway for future-proofing connectivity solutions. The program addresses a critical vulnerability in current connected devices by shifting profile provisioning to the factory floor, streamlining production and reducing logistical complexity.

According to Philippe Lucas, EVP Partnerships Content and Devices at Orange, the collaboration “brings together a leading global operator, a trusted eSIM security provider and an end-to-end IoT platform.” This unified approach aims to simplify IoT deployment and enhance scalability through secure-by-design principles. This quantum-safe element is not a future aspiration but a current capability, distinguishing the program from others in the field.

IFPP makes cellular connectivity simpler for our customers. The operator profile is provisioned in the factory, so the device is ready to connect from day one. That removes a real barrier for IoT manufacturers and opens cellular to many more devices and use cases.

The program follows GSMA SGP.41, the industry’s common architecture and requirements for in-factory profile provisioning. It runs on existing eSIM IoT infrastructure, so OEMs can deploy now and upgrade to SGP. Quantum-safe binding protects operator credentials throughout the production process, as the increasing sophistication of potential cyber threats demands.

With IFPP, connectivity becomes a production setting, made on the line, as late as the order allows. Multiple SIM SKUs are the next thing manufacturers get to stop managing.
