Yancy Oshita Joins Qtonic Quantum After 30 Years in Enterprise

After 30 years leading enterprise technology at companies like Oracle, PrimePay, Wimba, and Catchpoint, Yancy Oshita joins Qtonic Quantum Corp as Strategic Advisor for Go-to-Market and Enterprise Value Creation. The appointment signals a change for the post-quantum cybersecurity firm as it moves beyond technical validation to securing enterprise funding for migration programs.

“We have spent two years improving the evidence,” says David Cohen, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Qtonic Quantum, “but better evidence does not close a budget cycle by itself.” Oshita’s mandate focuses on translating cryptographic evidence into enterprise funding decisions, addressing a critical gap as the 2030 deadline for NIST’s algorithm deprecation nears.

Qtonic Quantum strengthened its leadership with the appointment of Yancy Oshita as Strategic Advisor, Go-to-Market and Enterprise Value Creation, signaling a shift from technical validation to securing enterprise funding for post-quantum solutions. Oshita brings over 30 years of experience architecting revenue systems for technology companies, including prior C-suite roles at Oracle, PrimePay, Wimba, and Catchpoint, a background the company intends to leverage as post-quantum migration accelerates.

Oshita’s mandate centers on bridging the gap between established technical timelines, NIST anticipates public-key algorithm deprecation around 2030, and the current lack of dedicated enterprise budgets. According to Oshita, “Post-quantum is one of the rare categories where the technical case is settled and the commercial case is not,” framing the issue as a matter of positioning and packaging rather than persuasion, solvable with existing independently verifiable cryptographic inventories.

We have spent two years making the evidence better. Better evidence does not close a budget cycle by itself. Yancy has built the commercial machinery around technical products at Oracle and at four growth-stage companies, and that is the part we have been doing by hand.

Rusty is a quantum science nerd. He's been into academic science all his life, but spent his formative years doing less academic things. Now he turns his attention to write about his passion, the quantum realm. He loves all things Quantum Physics especially. Rusty likes the more esoteric side of Quantum Computing and the Quantum world. Everything from Quantum Entanglement to Quantum Physics. Rusty thinks that we are in the 1950s quantum equivalent of the classical computing world. While other quantum journalists focus on IBM's latest chip or which startup just raised $50 million, Rusty's over here writing 3,000-word deep dives on whether quantum entanglement might explain why you sometimes think about someone right before they text you. (Spoiler: it doesn't, but the exploration is fascinating)
