His roles as Chairman of both Dagang NeXchange Berhad and SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd demonstrate a key connection between semiconductor manufacturing and broader technology investment. Through these positions, he bolstered digital infrastructure and industrial capabilities essential for future quantum innovation, according to the award citation. The award acknowledges his work strengthening semiconductor manufacturing, a foundational element for realizing quantum technologies. “Through his leadership at DNeX and SilTerra, he strengthened semiconductor manufacturing,” MIMOS stated, emphasizing the importance of industrial foundations for quantum advancement.

Quantum Science and Security Award Awarded to Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin

His leadership at MIMOS culminated in the realization of ASEAN’s first quantum cryptography network, a significant step toward regional data protection. The network’s development also advanced the organization’s participation in establishing international quantum cryptography standards. Professor Wahiddin’s contributions extend beyond network infrastructure. He supported expertise that helped secure digital communications against future quantum-based attacks.
