Infleqtion’s 5-Year Quantum Computing Roadmap Unveils World’s Largest Qubit Array, Targets Commercialization

Infleqtion'S 5-Year Quantum Computing Roadmap Unveils World'S Largest Qubit Array, Targets Commercialization

Quantum information company Infleqtion has unveiled a 5-year roadmap for commercializing quantum computing at scale. The plan includes the Sqorpius program, which aims to create error-corrected logical qubits for commercial applications. The company also unveiled the world’s largest qubit array, comprising 1600 qubits, signaling progress toward delivering fault-tolerant quantum computers within the next five years.

Infleqtion’s CEO, Scott Faris, highlighted the company’s core neutral atom technology platform and manufacturing investments as key to achieving this goal. Infleqtion has also been chosen to develop a quantum computing testbed for the UK’s National Quantum Computing Centre and to lead the quantum thrust for Europe’s largest cyber defense exercise. Additionally, Infleqtion has partnered with Texas A&M University to develop next-generation quantum technologies and products.

Infleqtion’s Quantum Computing Roadmap and Commercialization Plans

Infleqtion, a company specializing in quantum information, recently unveiled its 5-year quantum computing roadmap during a live webinar. The roadmap includes the introduction of Sqorpius, the next phase of Infleqtion’s quantum computing program, and several new partnerships and customer wins. These developments highlight Infleqtion’s progress towards commercializing quantum solutions on a large scale. Quantum technology is increasingly recognized as a catalyst for global transformation, with the potential to revolutionize various industries, including finance, defense, energy, healthcare, and life sciences.

Sqorpius: The Next Phase of Quantum Computing

Infleqtion announced Sqorpius as the next phase of its quantum computing program. This initiative involves substantial investments in hardware and software, focusing on creating error-corrected logical qubits for commercial applications. Alongside this announcement, Infleqtion revealed significant milestones in gate fidelity, qubit array scaling, and the development of its quantum error-correction system.

The company also unveiled the world’s largest qubit array, comprising 1600 qubits, signaling progress towards its goal of delivering fault-tolerant quantum computers within the next five years.

Infleqtion’s Role in Quantum Computing Initiatives

Infleqtion has been chosen to develop and deliver a quantum computing testbed for the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) in the United Kingdom. This testbed will support the NQCC’s goal of accelerating the development of the UK’s quantum computing capabilities and infrastructure. Infleqtion will deliver a large-scale neutral-atom quantum computer with a compelling pathway to logical qubit operations. This system will be used by UK researchers and key partners to address high-impact computational challenges.

Quantum Investments and Collaborations in Texas

To further its efforts, Infleqtion has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Texas A&M University and the Texas A&M Semiconductor Institute. This collaboration aims to create a new quantum program focused on developing next-generation quantum technologies and products, including quantum applications for scaling artificial intelligence (AI). The collaboration will also expand on Texas A&M’s significant investments in real-world test and experimentation facilities by developing a quantum test range that can support the development of novel applications of quantum products across numerous sectors.

Infleqtion’s Core Platform and Commercial Applications

During the webinar, Infleqtion also shared updates on its optical atomic clock platform, Tiqker. This platform demonstrates how the company’s core technology extends to multiple commercial use cases. Tiqker Prime, a 3U rack-mounted system available for pre-order, aims to revolutionize modern data centers and communication networks with significant improvements above current timing standards. Infleqtion is partnering with one of the world’s largest technology platforms to optimize Tiqker for next-generation data centers and communication networks. Tiqker’s applications span a wide range, including smart grids, timing services, wireless broadband, financial timestamping, network synchronization, scientific test and measurement, radio astronomy, autonomous vehicles, sensor networks, GPS ground services, and national timekeeping.
