Classiq and FreeYa Mind Campus open a quantum hub in Romania

Classiq and FreeYa Mind Campus are combining quantum software and hardware at a new hub in Iași, Romania. The Quantum AI center will integrate an IBM Quantum System Two with Classiq’s Qmod high-level modeling language, accelerating the design of quantum applications for researchers and enterprise teams.

More than 12 partner universities will connect to the campus initiative, expanding quantum education and development across the region. “Europe’s quantum ambitions depend on pairing powerful software with advanced hardware,” says Regev Yativ, CRO at Classiq, adding that the partnership will “establish a clear path from business and research problems to executable quantum solutions.”

Classiq and FreeYa Mind Campus Establish Romania Quantum Applications Hub

The FreeYa Mind Campus in Iași, Romania will now host Classiq’s regional headquarters, solidifying the company’s commitment to expanding quantum computing capabilities within the region and beyond. This strategic move accompanies a commercial agreement between Classiq and FreeYa Mind Campus to establish a dedicated quantum applications hub, designed to accelerate the development and deployment of quantum solutions for both enterprise and public sector clients, the company says.

This partnership extends beyond simply providing access to hardware and software; it focuses on cultivating a skilled workforce through an enhanced training program. Classiq will deliver curricula ranging from introductory quantum concepts to advanced algorithm design, directly addressing the need for specialized talent in the field.

The initiative is designed to connect quantum innovation with practical industry applications, offering university curriculum materials, practitioner training and enterprise onboarding resources. By establishing a clear pathway from problem definition to executable quantum solutions, the hub aims to bridge the gap between theoretical research and real-world implementation.

The hub’s impact is projected to extend throughout Romania and the broader European quantum ecosystem through the network of over 12 partner universities, research institutions and enterprises associated with FreeYa Mind Campus. This network will provide a diverse base of collaborators and potential adopters of quantum technologies, encouraging a collaborative environment for innovation.

The campus will also be open to government organizations and participants in European Union-funded programs, further amplifying its reach and impact. “FreeYa Mind Campus is being built as a focal point for advanced infrastructure, academic expertise and industry demand,” said Cristian Berariu, founder and CEO of FreeYa Mind Campus. “Our partnership with Classiq will connect on-campus and cloud quantum hardware with a leading application-development and education environment that can serve universities, businesses and public institutions.

This will help Romania build lasting quantum capability and contribute to Europe’s broader technology goals. I am confident that our collaboration with Classiq will benefit the entire region and boost talent in Romania.” The establishment of this hub builds on Classiq’s existing partnerships aimed at expanding quantum infrastructure globally, including similar initiatives in Naples and Korea.

This consistent expansion demonstrates a strategic focus on building localized quantum ecosystems, recognizing that effective deployment requires not only powerful hardware but also accessible software and a skilled workforce, according to the company. The hub’s model supports both the campus’s hardware strategy and introduces a framework for building quantum capability, with hardware providing the computational infrastructure and Classiq’s software layer enabling researchers and developers to learn, build, optimize, and execute applications.

Europe’s quantum ambitions depend on pairing powerful software with advanced hardware. Building on the success of FreeYa Mind Campus, we are bringing those elements together, and Classiq will provide the scalable software foundation that lets universities, enterprises and public institutions develop quantum applications.
