FRC and QIZ Security win Navy evaluation for quantum-safe encryption

A post-quantum cryptography solution developed by FRC and QIZ Security is now available to the U.S. Navy following evaluation against Area of Interest #26-A006, a specific roadmap for Zero Trust security. The solution resides on the RCC Hopper, a digital repository that allows Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic to award prototype agreements for up to 24 months. “Post quantum cryptography is an inherently complex technology,” said Alan Smith, FRC’s Chief Strategy Officer. This placement positions the team to potentially support the Navy’s transition to quantum-resistant cryptography within secure environments.

This milestone does not guarantee a contract, but positions the technology for potential prototype awards through Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic. The evaluation process confirmed technical merit. The collaborative effort between FRC and QIZ Security directly addresses the Navy’s need for a transition toward post-quantum cryptography within existing Zero Trust environments, as outlined in AOI 26-A006.

Their Phase II Pitch detailed an approach designed to support Navy assessment and potential adoption of these critical capabilities. “Advancing to the RCC Hopper is further validation of our team’s commitment to securing mission-critical entities – a commitment we share with our partners at FRC as we support the Department of Defense in preparing for emerging cryptographic challenges,” said Ben Volkow, CEO & Co-Founder at QIZ Security.

Alan Smith, FRC’s Chief Strategy Officer, emphasized the importance of this achievement, stating that as government organizations prepare for the security implications of quantum computing, establishing practical paths toward post-quantum readiness while maintaining Zero Trust principles is increasingly important. Jeremy Martin at FRC (jmartin@fedresources. com) will serve as the point of contact should the Government issue a Phase III Request for Proposal, potentially collaborating with QIZ Security to refine requirements. This milestone allows FRC and QIZ Security to expand upon their Phase II work and support the Navy in safeguarding information and systems against future quantum threats.

Post quantum cryptography is an inherently complex technology. Advancing to the RCC Hopper is an important validation of the technical approach our teams have developed together.
