MKS Unveils Photonics Solutions Driving AI & Quantum Innovation at Photonics West

MKS Inc. will unveil its latest photonics solutions at Photonics West 2026, driving innovation in areas like AI and quantum technologies. The company will showcase solutions—including the Newport™ HybrYX™ stages and Spectra-Physics Talon® Ace™ laser delivering over 100W UV—designed for precision, productivity, and scalability. MKS aims to empower customers and accelerate progress across industries and science with these advancements.

Newport HybrYX Stages & Spectra-Physics Talon Ace for AI Hardware

For AI hardware development, MKS offers the Newport HybrYX single plane air bearing XY hybrid stages, designed for exceptional accuracy and stable positioning—critical for semiconductor inspection. These stages reduce vibration while enabling fast movement, directly supporting the creation of high-density interconnects essential for artificial intelligence systems. Complementing this is the Spectra-Physics Talon Ace, a pulsed laser delivering over 100W of UV power, providing refined process control for high-speed micromachining used in AI infrastructure. These photonics solutions are geared towards improving data center bandwidth and energy efficiency, necessary for the massive computational demands of AI workloads.

The Talon Ace’s programmable pulse capability allows for precise material processing, while the HybrYX stages ensure accurate positioning during manufacturing. MKS’s approach leverages its “Surround the Workpiece” strategy, offering end-to-end solutions for optimizing precision and accelerating innovation in this rapidly evolving field.

Spectra-Physics Matisse Lasers Enable Quantum Device Fabrication

Spectra-Physics Matisse continuous wave tunable ring lasers are key to advancements in quantum device fabrication, delivering high output power alongside ultra-narrow linewidth and broad tunability. This combination of characteristics makes them ideal for high-precision applications and fundamental quantum research, enabling manipulation of quantum states. Supporting this work, Newport non-magnetic vibration tables provide exceptional isolation from environmental disturbances, crucial for maintaining stability during sensitive quantum experiments and minimizing magnetic interference. MKS also provides lasers, like the Spectra-Physics Talon Ace, and precision motion systems that are essential for building and controlling quantum-enabled systems.

These technologies contribute to both quantum research efforts and the move towards industrializing quantum technologies by providing the necessary stability and accuracy at the atomic level. This focus on precision positions MKS as a provider of tools for tackling complex challenges in the emerging field of quantum computing and secure communications.

Our mission is to empower customers with precision technologies that accelerate progress across industries and science.
