Contrivian launched its Government Solutions division on September 29, 2026, building on the capabilities of its multi-constellation LEO solution, Contrivian Constellation, to address the unique needs of US federal agencies. The new division focuses on delivering secure, mission-critical connectivity designed for distributed operations in “denied, degraded and disrupted environments,” including encryption ready for post-quantum cryptography over satellite and terrestrial networks. “Federal customers operate in environments where connectivity cannot be allowed to become a point of failure,” said Grant Kirkwood, Founder and CEO of Contrivian, emphasizing the need for resilient communications before disruptions impact users.
Contrivian Constellation Enables Multi-Network Federal Connectivity
This division isn’t simply adapting existing technology; it’s building on a pre-existing network infrastructure to meet specific federal needs, particularly those related to maintaining connectivity in challenging conditions. Brian Hedges, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships at Contrivian, explained that “Federal and defense environments create technical requirements that go well beyond conventional enterprise connectivity,” highlighting the specialized demands driving this new venture. The core of this offering centers on resilience; the system is designed to function even when individual network components fail, a critical capability for defense and federal agencies.
Government Solutions provides a dedicated platform to address the connectivity and security requirements of federal and defense customers. This proactive approach to network management distinguishes Contrivian’s solution from standard connectivity services, which often react to outages rather than preventing them. Beyond simply maintaining uptime, the Government Solutions division is actively developing cybersecurity capabilities tailored for government and defense applications, including patent-pending technologies addressing post-quantum security.
The division is also developing additional cybersecurity capabilities specifically for government and defense environments, including patent-pending technologies addressing emerging security requirements. Contrivian is also integrating its multi-network connectivity, including fiber, broadband, LTE/5G, and LEO satellite, to provide a unified and adaptable communications infrastructure. “We’re working closely with customers to understand those requirements and bring together the capabilities needed to address them.
Government Solutions enables us to collaborate directly with federal and defense organizations on architectures that can maintain critical communications when individual networks, paths or infrastructure are degraded or unavailable,” Hedges added. The division is initially concentrating on the US federal market, with a particular emphasis on defense-related requirements, and is now available at www. contriviangs. com.
