SEALSQ Chips Now Certified for Quantum-Safe Hardware Security

SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES) is now providing samples to customers of its TPM185, a fully post-quantum cryptography Trusted Platform Module designed for devices with 10, 20-year lifespans requiring protection against future quantum computing threats. As artificial intelligence advances into physical systems like robots and vehicles, secure hardware is critical; the company asserts that security begins with implementing standardized post-quantum cryptography, not with certification. SEALSQ is actively collaborating with the Trusted Computing Group to finalize certification requirements, anticipating Common Criteria certification for the TPM185 following approval of the Protection Profile by the French National Cybersecurity Agency in December 2026.

SEALSQ’s TPM185 Enables Quantum-Resilient Platform Design

The accelerating development of artificial intelligence into physical systems demands immediate attention to hardware security. Devices with projected 10, 20-year lifespans require post-quantum cryptographic protection now, according to SEALSQ Corp (NASDAQ: LAES). This proactive approach addresses a critical vulnerability; conventional cryptographic methods are increasingly susceptible to attacks from quantum computers, potentially compromising the integrity of connected devices for decades. SEALSQ’s TPM185 is engineered to support the latest NIST-standardized quantum-proof algorithms, specifically Crystals Kyber and Dylithium, demonstrating a concrete technical implementation.

The company emphasizes that robust security begins with secure hardware implementing standardized post-quantum cryptography, certified entropy, secure key storage, and protected firmware updates; certification validates existing security, but does not create it. This stance is particularly relevant for applications spanning robotics, industrial automation, automotive systems, and critical infrastructure, where long-term security is paramount.

SEALSQ actively participates in the TCG Working Group developing these requirements, collaborating to ensure a consistent certification framework. Despite these pending certifications, SEALSQ is sampling customers with its TPM185, enabling original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system manufacturers to begin designing quantum-resilient platforms immediately. Jean-Pierre Enguent, CTO at SEALSQ, said, “I’m genuinely excited that we’re already sampling our TPM185, the full Post-Quantum Cryptography TPM that lets customers start designing truly quantum-resilient platforms today.” The company views the transition to post-quantum security as a long-term process, arguing that delaying adoption until all certifications are in place would unnecessarily expose connected products to risk.
