Quantum Flagship Gathers Input on EuroQCI via Workshops

Europe’s quantum strategy is entering a phase of detailed refinement with the launch of a series of community workshops designed to directly inform policy and funding decisions. The Quantum Flagship will host five separate roadmaps, covering Quantum Communication, Standardization, Supply Chain, Sensing & Metrology, and Chips Industrialization, to ensure Europe’s quantum technologies ecosystem reflects current needs and ambitions. The first of these workshops, focused on the Quantum Communication Roadmap, will be held on June 12th, offering experts a concrete opportunity to contribute to the process and directly feeding into the update of the Strategic Research and Industry Agenda and the broader Quantum Europe Strategy.

Quantum Flagship Updates Strategic Research and Industry Agenda

These community consultations follow an initial round of feedback gathering and aim to ensure the SRIA reflects the priorities of Europe’s quantum ecosystem; discussions will center on technological advancements, industrial needs, and strategic challenges. The feedback collected will be instrumental in refining the documents and shaping the next phase of quantum research, innovation, and industrialization across the continent. The workshops are directly linked to the broader Quantum Europe Strategy, demonstrating a clear pathway from academic discussion to concrete policy and funding decisions, and organizers emphasize the importance of community input, stating the goal is to “help refine the documents and ensure that they reflect the needs, priorities and ambitions of Europe’s quantum technologies ecosystem.” Further sessions are scheduled throughout the month.

Thematic Workshops Address Quantum Technology Roadmaps

The Quantum Flagship initiative is now actively soliciting detailed community feedback through a series of five thematic workshops designed to refine Europe’s quantum technology strategy. These sessions build upon initial consultations and directly inform updates to the Strategic Research and Industry Agenda (SRIA). Roadmaps are also under development for Quantum Standardization, Supply Chain and Enabling Technologies, Sensing & Metrology, and Quantum Chips Industrialization, demonstrating a detailed approach to fostering quantum innovation. Discussions will cover technological advancements, industrial viewpoints, strategic priorities, and critical hurdles, ensuring the SRIA accurately reflects the needs of the quantum ecosystem. Each workshop provides a registration link for interested parties, with sessions scheduled throughout June, beginning on June 12th with the Quantum Communication Roadmap discussion and culminating on June 29th with the Quantum Chips Industrialization Roadmap discussion; the resulting revisions will guide future funding and policy decisions within the quantum sector.
