IBM has elected Frank Baker, co-founder and Managing Partner of Siris Capital Group, to its board of directors, effective immediately. Siris Capital has deployed over $9 billion in equity capital since its inception, bringing substantial private equity experience to IBM’s strategic oversight.
“We are excited to welcome Frank Baker to our Board of Directors,” said Arvind Krishna, IBM chairman, president and chief executive officer, adding that he looks forward to Baker’s insights as IBM advances its long-term vision. Baker also currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the Robert & Ethel Kennedy Human Rights Center, demonstrating a commitment extending beyond financial strategy.
Frank Baker’s Siris Capital Background and Expertise
Baker currently leads Siris’ investment strategy, concentrating on established technology firms undergoing transitions and driving value creation through their products and services. Beyond investment, Baker’s leadership has been central to Siris’ success, overseeing the firm’s portfolio and guiding its overall direction, IBM says. This experience is expected to benefit IBM as it pursues enterprise-wide transformation through technology.
He also holds a trustee position at Deerfield Academy, indicating continued engagement with educational institutions. Baker holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in economics.
