Transcelestial Unveils System Enabling Up to 25Gbps Wireless Connectivity

Transcelestial has unveiled CENTAURI+, a new wireless laser communications platform designed to deliver bandwidth on demand and enhanced security for modern networks. The system, an upgrade to the commercially available CENTAURI terminal, offers up to 25 gigabits per second of full duplex transmission and reception speed with a range of up to 3 kilometers. Built for both indoor enterprise and outdoor telecom deployments, CENTAURI+ features self-healing technology and zero-touch channel bonding to ensure network reliability, aiming for 99.999% uptime. According to Transcelestial, the platform is also equipped with “world’s first production-grade Post-quantum (PQC) encryption capabilities” developed from their space program, strengthening resilience against future cryptographic threats.

CENTAURI+ Achieves 40Gbps Full-Duplex Capacity with 3km Range

Shipments are scheduled to begin March 2026 to select telecommunications customers who have already committed to advance purchases, with global pre-orders currently being accepted. CENTAURI+ incorporates a fully integrated Layer 2/3 interface, eliminating the need for additional switches and enabling intelligent VLAN and QoS support; it also achieves up to 25Gbps full duplex Tx/Rx speeds in a single unit. The system utilizes advanced forward error correction to improve availability and reduce bit error rates, alongside self-healing technology powered by an onboard AI engine and sensor fusion that prevents disruptions to laser terminals. “Automatic, Adaptive Data Rates which unlock bandwidth-on-demand delivering software-defined throughput across a connection,” are a key feature of the new platform. Notably, the platform boasts zero-touch channel bonding for automatic failover with radio frequency devices or fiber optics, aiming for 99.999% uptime.

Transcelestial is also integrating production-grade post-quantum encryption capabilities, developed through its space program, to bolster resilience against potential threats from quantum computers, and WireGuard-based advanced VPN functionality to protect traffic with modern cryptographic algorithms. The minimal footprint, up to 70% smaller than traditional RF antennas, is intended to reduce operational expenses and tower rental costs.

Post-Quantum Encryption & 99.999% Uptime via Self-Healing AI

The demand for secure, reliable communication networks is driving innovation beyond traditional radio frequency systems, with laser communication platforms now incorporating features designed to withstand emerging threats and maintain continuous operation. Transcelestial’s CENTAURI+ represents a move towards resilient infrastructure, integrating post-quantum encryption capabilities developed initially for its space program and now available to terrestrial customers. This addresses the potential vulnerabilities posed by future quantum computers, bolstering cryptographic defenses against increasingly sophisticated attacks. Furthermore, the platform offers flexible bandwidth up to 25Gbps full-duplex capacity over distances up to 3km, alongside intelligent features like automatic, adaptive data rates and intelligent packet prioritization. Shipments to select telecommunications customers who placed advance commitments start March 2026.

With flexible bandwidth up to 40Gbps full-duplex capacity up to 3km (1.8 miles) line-of-sight, CENTAURI+ is built for large indoor enterprise and all-weather outdoor telecom deployments where networks need rapid capacity expansion at reasonable costs without compromising operations and security.

Dr. Donovan is a futurist and technology writer covering the quantum revolution. Where classical computers manipulate bits that are either on or off, quantum machines exploit superposition and entanglement to process information in ways that classical physics cannot. Dr. Donovan tracks the full quantum landscape: fault-tolerant computing, photonic and superconducting architectures, post-quantum cryptography, and the geopolitical race between nations and corporations to achieve quantum advantage. The decisions being made now, in research labs and government offices around the world, will determine who controls the most powerful computers ever built.
