Pasqal Appoints CFO to Guide Transition to Public Company

Pasqal has appointed Stéphane Rougeot as Chief Financial Officer, signaling a strategy to align its financial structures with those of established public technology firms as the company prepares for a Nasdaq listing. Rougeot, previously CFO of multiple publicly-listed European technology companies including Deezer S.A. and Signify N.V., will oversee Pasqal’s financial operations as it scales commercial deployment of its neutral-atom quantum systems through a business combination with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II (Nasdaq: BBCQ). According to CEO Wasiq Bokhari, “Quantum computing is moving into real industrial and commercial use, and that transition has to be built on financial rigor and credibility with the public markets.” This appointment underscores Pasqal’s focus on convincing investors of the viability of transitioning quantum computing toward widespread industrial and commercial applications.

Pasqal’s ambition to translate quantum computing from research labs to industrial applications received a significant boost with the appointment of Stéphane Rougeot as Chief Financial Officer. The move signals an intention to establish financial structures mirroring those of established, publicly-listed European technology firms as Pasqal prepares for its own public listing. Rougeot’s extensive experience leading the finances of publicly traded companies, including roles at Deezer S.A. and Signify N.V., is expected to be instrumental in scaling a deep-tech venture. The arrangement with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II (Nasdaq: BBCQ), a special purpose acquisition company, provides a defined pathway for Pasqal to access capital and increase visibility within the investment community. Rougeot’s prior roles at Technicolor S.A., where he served as both CFO and Deputy CEO of its technology and licensing business, demonstrate a proven ability to manage complex international operations and strategic transformations.

His earlier experience at Total S.A. and Orange S.A. further solidifies a career built on financial leadership within large, multinational organizations. “Pasqal has built a combination of strong science rooted in France, a clear commercial roadmap and a blue-chip customer base, and I am joining at the moment that combination turns into scale,” said Rougeot, highlighting the company’s position within the quantum computing industry. He intends to build a “financial foundation to take Pasqal public and to support its growth as a defining company in quantum computing,” underscoring the importance of financial stability in realizing Pasqal’s long-term vision.
