IBM UK has acquired Logiq Consulting, a UK cybersecurity consultancy assured by the National Cyber Security Centre, to bolster its work with highly regulated sectors. Logiq Consulting specializes in cybersecurity assurance, secure systems engineering, and secure digital transformation for organizations including the UK Defence Industry and Critical National Infrastructure. “Cybersecurity, governance and resilience are absolutely critical to organisations as they increasingly accelerate their transformation and adopt AI at scale,” said Rhodri Arrowsmith, Managing Partner for IBM Consulting in UK & Ireland. The acquisition expands IBM’s hybrid cloud, AI, and digital sovereignty agenda within the UK.
Logiq Consulting Expands IBM’s UK Cybersecurity and Sovereign Technology
Logiq Consulting developed DISX, a managed collaboration platform enabling secure information exchange between government suppliers and UK organizations while maintaining data control, a capability now integrated with IBM’s existing portfolio. This platform addresses a critical need for sovereign data management within sensitive sectors like defence and critical national infrastructure, allowing secure collaboration without relinquishing control over information handling. The acquisition positions IBM to offer enhanced data sovereignty solutions to clients navigating increasingly complex regulatory landscapes.
IBM intends to combine Logiq Consulting’s expertise with that of SiXworks, an IBM company specializing in digital transformation for defence and the public sector; this combination will provide clients with a holistic approach to security, embedding it throughout the entire technology lifecycle from initial design to ongoing managed services. This move reflects a growing emphasis on proactive cybersecurity measures, particularly within highly regulated industries.
