Vietnam’s largest private information technology firm, FPT Corporation, is partnering with Quandela to build a quantum ecosystem within the country through a two-year Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement will combine FPT’s market expertise with Quandela’s photonic quantum computing hardware, software and cloud infrastructure. Quandela may provide FPT researchers with access to its cloud-based quantum computing infrastructure, allowing experimentation and application identification. This collaboration will also focus on quantum research, education and talent development initiatives within Vietnam.
FPT and Quandela’s Two-Year Framework for Quantum Collaboration
FPT Corporation and Quandela formalized their commitment to quantum technology development with a two-year Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a defined timeline for collaborative exploration. This partnership extends beyond research, encompassing cloud computing access and initiatives designed to cultivate quantum expertise within Vietnam. A key component of the framework involves potential access for FPT researchers to Quandela’s cloud-based quantum computing infrastructure, avoiding the substantial capital investment typically required for local hardware deployment.
FPT intends to establish a dedicated research group to use this access, conducting experimentation and identifying practical applications for quantum computing within Vietnamese industries. The companies will also jointly investigate quantum algorithms, communications protocols and cybersecurity applications, broadening the scope of innovation.
Education and talent development form a third pillar of the collaboration; FPT’s university and high-school programs will benefit from access to quantum learning environments and open-source tools. The Memorandum of Understanding also outlines potential cooperation with Vietnamese universities, aiming to expand the reach of quantum education beyond FPT’s immediate network.
