AI models run 93% faster on Qualcomm chips, Multiverse Computing says

Multiverse Computing demonstrated 93 percent faster response times in a real-time emergency medical reporting scenario by running a compressed large language model on Qualcomm Dragonfly AI200/250 accelerators, as showcased at Mobile World Congress in March 2026. The collaboration between Multiverse Computing and Qualcomm Technologies focuses on optimizing AI models for Qualcomm’s hardware, reducing the compute and memory needed for large-scale AI workloads. This work also achieved up to a 45 percent reduction in memory usage and 21 percent lower power consumption without sacrificing accuracy.

Qualcomm’s Dragonfly AI200 and AI250 accelerators are improving the efficiency of artificial intelligence models used in data centers, as evidenced by a collaboration with Multiverse Computing announced on August 5. The partnership focuses on optimizing AI workloads to maximize performance while minimizing power consumption, a critical need as data center operators seek to scale AI deployments sustainably. Multiverse Computing specializes in model compression and optimization, tailoring AI models to run effectively on Qualcomm’s hardware; this approach directly addresses the growing demand for increased data center capacity without requiring substantial infrastructure expansion.

The efficiency gains stem from a combined focus on hardware and software optimization. Qualcomm Technologies’ expertise in power-constrained computing, honed in mobile and IoT sectors, is now being applied to the demands of AI data centers.
