Eclypses and BitRipple are collaborating to deliver data protection that withstands quantum attacks while accelerating delivery across even the most unreliable networks, the company says. The partnership combines Eclypses’ FIPS 140-3 validated MicroToken Exchange, which builds quantum-resistant protection directly into the data itself, with BitRipple LT3 software. BitRipple LT3 operates as a transparent layer, accelerating data without requiring updates to existing infrastructure, and specifically targets organizations relying on satellite, tactical and mobile links. “Our customers should never have to choose between securing their data and actually getting it there,” says Scott Brown, CEO of BitRipple.
Eclypses MicroToken Exchange Secures Payload Against Quantum Threats
Eclypses’ data security approach embeds quantum-resistant protection directly within the data itself, a key distinction for communications traversing unreliable connections. This built-in security means the payload remains protected regardless of the network conditions, a feature critical for satellite, tactical, and mobile links where signal degradation or interception are constant threats. Eclypses protects the payload itself, building FIPS 140-3 validated, quantum-resistant protection into the data so it is secured independent of the network it travels over.
This validation ensures the security isn’t reliant on the integrity of the transmission path, offering an advantage over systems where encryption keys are vulnerable in transit. BitRipple LT3 complements this payload-level security by focusing on reliable data delivery, even across severely impaired networks. The software operates as a transparent layer, accelerating data transfer without requiring modifications to existing hardware or software infrastructure.
This is achieved through patented fountain codes, originally developed by BitRipple co-founder and National Academy of Engineering member Michael Luby, which eliminate packet loss and retransmissions, according to the company. The result is a system where data arrives quickly and completely, even when faced with substantial network congestion or disruption. “Eclypses protects the data at the payload, and LT3 moves it across the networks where delivery is hardest,” said Scott Brown, CEO of BitRipple.
The combined solution is specifically designed for environments where both security and dependability are paramount, including defense communications, space-based data links and other mission-critical applications where data loss or compromise could have severe consequences. The companies are following a phased integration plan to progress validation to a fully deployable product. “BitRipple is solving a fundamental challenge in modern communications: ensuring that critical data moves quickly and reliably, regardless of network conditions,” said David Gomes, chief executive officer of Eclypses.
The layered approach of MTE and LT3 addresses a critical gap in current data transmission protocols. Traditional encryption methods often add overhead, slowing down data transfer and increasing vulnerability in unstable networks. By securing the data at the application level and then accelerating its delivery with a resilient transport layer, Eclypses and BitRipple aim to provide both robust security and high-performance data transfer, the firm reports.
The companies emphasize that LT3 never decrypts the data it carries, maintaining the integrity of the Eclypses encryption throughout the entire transmission process. For defense and space missions, this combination, according to Gomes, is the difference between data that is merely encrypted and data that is actually usable.
Our customers should never have to choose between securing their data and actually getting it there.
