Classiq and FreeYa Mind Campus launch quantum hub in Romania

An IBM Quantum System Two at the FreeYa Mind Campus in Iași, Romania will soon be augmented by quantum software from Classiq, establishing a new hub for quantum application development and education, the company says. The partnership will connect Classiq’s software platform to more than 12 Romanian universities through the FreeYa Mind Campus network, creating a pipeline for quantum talent.

Classiq will also establish its Romania regional headquarters at the campus, signaling a long-term commitment to the region. Regev Yativ, CRO at Classiq, stated that “Europe’s quantum ambitions depend on pairing powerful software with advanced hardware.”

Classiq and FreeYa Mind Campus Establish Romania Quantum Application Hub

This expansion supports the campus’s goal of becoming a central hub for advanced infrastructure, academic expertise and industry demand, according to founder and CEO Cristian Berariu. The move signifies a concrete investment in the region’s quantum future, positioning the campus as a key driver of innovation and talent development. FreeYa Mind Campus’s network, encompassing over 12 partner universities alongside enterprises and public-sector organizations, will be connected to Classiq’s enterprise-grade quantum software platform.

This platform integrates Classiq’s agentic AI interfaces, Qmod high-level modeling language, circuit synthesis and hardware-aware execution, accelerating the design and optimization of quantum applications for both researchers and enterprise teams, according to the company. The Quantum AI center at FreeYa Mind Campus, already equipped with an IBM Quantum System Two, will now incorporate Classiq’s software and training programs, offering a comprehensive educational layer for the center’s users.

Classiq will collaborate with the campus team to translate quantum innovation into practical applications for various industries, offering university curriculum materials, practitioner training, enterprise onboarding and Classiq certification resources. Building on the success of FreeYa Mind Campus, we are bringing those elements together. Classiq will provide the scalable software foundation that lets universities, enterprises and public institutions develop quantum applications.” The initiative builds upon Classiq’s existing momentum with organizations establishing quantum hardware and software centers, including partnerships with TEA TEK in Naples and QAI in Korea, the firm reports.

By combining Classiq’s software engineering platform with FreeYa Mind Campus’s quantum infrastructure, the collaboration aims to strengthen both the Romanian and wider European quantum ecosystems, developing the necessary skills, workflows and applications to effectively use the available infrastructure.

This model, where hardware supports a software layer enabling learning, application building, optimization and execution, is central to the partnership’s strategy. FreeYa Mind Campus will support its hardware strategy while simultaneously introducing a framework for building broader quantum capability. The collaboration reinforces Classiq’s position as a software partner for organizations creating quantum centers of excellence and application hubs, while cementing FreeYa Mind Campus’s role as a leading end-to-end quantum hub in the region, offering a complete suite of services for education, research, enterprise projects and public-sector programs alongside quantum hardware.

Europe’s quantum ambitions depend on pairing powerful software with advanced hardware. Building on the success of FreeYa Mind Campus, we are bringing those elements together, and Classiq will provide the scalable software foundation that lets universities, enterprises and public institutions develop quantum applications.
