Science Applications International Corp is expanding its post-quantum cryptography capabilities with the acquisition of Information Security Corporation, the company says. CertAgent, a key product in ISC’s suite, has appeared on the National Security Agency’s Commercial Solutions for Classified Components List for over a decade, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to high-security applications. “This strategic tuck-in acquisition reflects our disciplined approach to investing in technology,” said Jim Reagan, Chief Executive Officer of SAIC.
ISC Technology Enhances SAIC’s Zero Trust and Encryption Capabilities
This long-standing vetting process signifies the technology’s reliability within high-security environments and validates its suitability for protecting sensitive data, which is an important factor in SAIC’s expanding zero-trust capabilities. The acquisition itself is described by SAIC CEO Jim Reagan as indicating a deliberate focus on integrating a specific, complementary technology rather than pursuing broad diversification. ISC’s product suite is engineered with a particular emphasis on allowing rapid adaptation to evolving cryptographic standards and bolstering defenses against emerging threats.
This feature is increasingly vital as the field of post-quantum cryptography matures and organizations prepare for potential vulnerabilities posed by future quantum computing advancements. Jonathan Schulze-Hewett, Vice President of Development at ISC, stated, “Joining SAIC marks an exciting new chapter for ISC and our employees,” highlighting the potential for expanded reach and impact of their security solutions.
The integration of ISC’s technologies with SAIC’s existing zero-trust architecture is intended to provide intelligence and defense customers with enhanced security and scalability. ISC’s technology is currently deployed across the U.S. intelligence community and Department of Defense, supporting identity verification, authentication and data protection within critical government systems.
This strategic tuck-in acquisition reflects our disciplined approach to investing in technology and capabilities that address the nation’s most critical challenges.
Jim Reagan, Chief Executive Officer of SAIC
