The AWS centre Quantum Computing founded last year (2019) well see one of the famous names in Quantum Computing join it as a scholar. John Preskill announced the position on his twitter feed.
John Phillip Preskill is a theoretical physicist and the Richard P. Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and he is also the Director of the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter. John is prolific in the Quantum field but his name is perhaps most synonymous with coining the term “Quantum Supremacy” in a 2012 paper.
Amazon has been busy beefing about its quantum offering and offers a number of quantum devices on its platform and works with a number of providers from Rigetti to IonQ to D-wave, which means a range of technologies can be covered from Gate-based, superconducting qubits to Ion Traps, D-wave and quantum annealing.
