Science Applications delivers first practical quantum solutions to US agencies

Science Applications International Corporation has become the first mission integrator to deploy practical quantum solutions to US federal agencies, the company says. The company’s new portfolio delivers capabilities spanning timing, sensing, computation, and encryption, transitioning technology testing to active federal deployment after more than two years of focused investment. SAIC is enabling agencies to proactively adopt quantum-resistant encryption using the NIST CNSA 2. 0 standard, securing government data ahead of modernization timelines.

Military operators now have access to GPS-independent navigation and timing (PNT) systems, allowing for precise operations even when global positioning systems are unavailable or compromised. This capability, delivered as part of Science Applications International Corporation’s new quantum solutions portfolio, bypasses reliance on satellite-based positioning, enhancing operational resilience in contested environments, according to the company. The portfolio, built with leading ecosystem partners, addresses critical needs in timing, sensing, computation, and encryption for both civil and defense agencies.

0 standard. This move secures sensitive government data and infrastructure before federally mandated modernization timelines, mitigating future vulnerabilities. The development of this portfolio represents more than two years of investment, engineering and testing focused on translating quantum science into deployable government applications.

The company’s recent acquisition of Information Security Corporation strengthens its cryptographic infrastructure offerings, facilitating the modernization needed for post-quantum cryptography. Dr. Chris Powell, SAIC Chief Scientist, said, “We are removing the adoption risk for federal technology and mission leaders.” SAIC is delivering practical, secure and affordable quantum strategies to help both civil and defense leaders achieve a mission advantage. SAIC’s solutions also use quantum-inspired algorithms to accelerate decision-making, solving complex logistical challenges in seconds and optimizing critical government workflows.

Federal agencies require immediate access to transformative technologies, and SAIC is successfully delivering those capabilities today.

Rusty is a quantum science nerd. He's been into academic science all his life, but spent his formative years doing less academic things. Now he turns his attention to write about his passion, the quantum realm. He loves all things Quantum Physics especially. Rusty likes the more esoteric side of Quantum Computing and the Quantum world. Everything from Quantum Entanglement to Quantum Physics. Rusty thinks that we are in the 1950s quantum equivalent of the classical computing world. While other quantum journalists focus on IBM's latest chip or which startup just raised $50 million, Rusty's over here writing 3,000-word deep dives on whether quantum entanglement might explain why you sometimes think about someone right before they text you. (Spoiler: it doesn't, but the exploration is fascinating)
