Dynamical Decoupling Now Accessible Via Qiskit, Quantum Elements Reports

IBM Quantum Network member organizations will soon have a new tool to boost circuit performance as Quantum Elements prepares to launch Orbit within the IBM Qiskit Functions Catalog. Orbit embeds advanced quantum error suppression directly into a widely-used development platform, translating decades of dynamical decoupling research into a practical application for quantum computing users. The function is designed to improve circuit execution and reduce the time and cost associated with error mitigation, a critical benefit for teams working within limited budgets. “Orbit was built to give users practical access to advanced error suppression without complicating the workflow,” explains Izhar Medalsy, CEO and cofounder of Quantum Elements. By applying dynamical decoupling to both static and dynamic circuits, Orbit addresses noise in ways traditional error mitigation techniques often cannot.

Orbit Function Integrates Dynamical Decoupling into IBM Qiskit

Decades of research into protecting quantum states from noise are now directly available to developers through a new function integrated into IBM’s Qiskit platform. This accessibility represents a significant shift, translating years of academic work in dynamical decoupling into a practical tool for a defined user group. Quantum Elements intends Orbit to address limitations of traditional error suppression methods, particularly when applied to dynamic circuits; these circuits, essential for fault-tolerant quantum computing, often prove challenging for static-circuit techniques. Orbit’s ability to apply dynamical decoupling to these workflows allows for noise suppression in scenarios where conventional methods fall short.
