On August 6, 2026, ZeroTier and Carahsoft announced a partnership to distribute ZeroTier Quantum, a software-defined networking platform designed to replace cryptographic security standards used for over two decades. The collaboration will leverage NASA’s Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) V contract, offering government agencies a direct path to deploy and scale this post-quantum secure networking solution.
“Public Sector agencies today are operating in a threat environment that is more distributed, more dynamic, and more demanding than ever,” said Andrew Gault, CEO of ZeroTier, emphasizing the need for resilient connectivity in increasingly complex environments. ZeroTier Quantum embeds post-quantum cryptographic resilience into the transport layer, addressing the immediate threat of quantum computing breaking modern encryption.
ZeroTier Quantum: Post-Quantum Cryptography via ZTP and Rust Architecture
ZeroTier Quantum employs a memory-safe Rust architecture, a deliberate design choice to fortify its defenses against increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks and vulnerabilities common in traditionally coded networking platforms. This focus on memory safety directly addresses a core weakness exploited by many modern exploits, reducing the attack surface and enhancing the platform’s overall resilience.
The platform implements hybrid ML-KEM-1024 and ECDH P-384 cryptography, a layered approach intended to neutralize both immediate and future threats, specifically those involving the “harvest now, decrypt later” and “trust now, forge later” scenarios. By combining these cryptographic methods, ZeroTier Quantum aims to provide a robust defense against evolving quantum computing capabilities.
This contract vehicle is particularly significant because it provides a pre-approved pathway for federal agencies to acquire and deploy the technology, bypassing lengthy and complex acquisition processes. Mark Demerse, Sales Director who oversees the ZeroTier Team at Carahsoft, said, “Government agencies are evaluating technologies that strengthen cyber resilience while preparing for the transition to post-quantum security,” highlighting the proactive stance agencies are taking toward future-proofing their networks.
The company’s solution is designed to function seamlessly across diverse environments, including public cloud, sovereign, and air-gapped networks, enabling data sovereignty and operational continuity. Beyond meeting current standards, ZeroTier Quantum is built on a Zero Trust architecture and is designed to facilitate the adoption of NIST-approved post-quantum cryptography ahead of federal compliance deadlines.
Robert Stevenson, Chief Commercial Officer at ZeroTier, explained that “ZeroTier Quantum gives agencies and defense organizations a practical path to end-to-end quantum-secure networking right now, with the flexibility to support mission-critical operations across cloud, edge, tactical, air-gapped and even offline environments.” This flexibility extends to various deployment scenarios, from securing remote access and tactical edge deployments to protecting critical infrastructure. The platform’s ability to encapsulate legacy infrastructure with a secure overlay allows for immediate modernization without the disruption and expense of complete system replacements, a crucial consideration for organizations with substantial existing investments.

Carahsoft Distribution Expands ZeroTier’s Secure Networking to Public Sector
Carahsoft’s expanded distribution of ZeroTier Quantum marks a significant step toward bolstering public sector cybersecurity, particularly given the rapidly approaching threat posed by quantum computing. This contract vehicle, NNG15SC03B and NNG15SC27B, will be instrumental in scaling ZeroTier Quantum’s reach across federal organizations and beyond.
The urgency driving this collaboration stems from the vulnerability of current cryptographic standards to future quantum attacks. This partnership isn’t merely about providing a technological solution; it’s about accelerating the adoption of post-quantum cryptography within the public sector, enabling agencies to meet evolving Federal compliance deadlines and proactively address a critical security challenge.
The White House and international security agencies are clear: the threat of quantum computing cracking modern encryption isn’t a future problem; It’s a today problem.
