WISeSat gets $10M to build secure satellites for a post-quantum world

SEALSQ led a $10 million investment in WISeSat. Space on October 1, 2026, simultaneously closing a Business Combination to bolster space cybersecurity initiatives. The funding will accelerate WISeSat. Space’s development of satellites integrating post-quantum cryptography into space and ground infrastructure.

According to Carlos Moreira, CEO of SEALSQ, WISeSat. Space and WISeQey, “This investment brings together two companies within the WISeQey group around a shared goal: making space infrastructure secure against both current and future cyber threats.” A price-protection mechanism within the agreement could result in the issuance of up to 1,073,216 additional shares to SEALSQ if WISeSat’s stock price falls below $10.79 within 60 days.

SEALSQ $10M PIPE Investment Accelerates WISeSat’s Space Cybersecurity

The $10.79 per share price paid by SEALSQ in the private investment is the redemption price, a detail outlining the financial structure of the deal and potential returns for existing shareholders. WISeSat. Space intends to integrate advanced cybersecurity capabilities with satellite communications, establishing a foundation for resilient communications across both space and terrestrial infrastructure. A key element of this program centers on developing quantum-resistant secure communications, designed to counter emerging cybersecurity threats posed by the advancement of quantum computing.

Space aims to fortify device authentication, data integrity and secure communications across space and ground infrastructure. Space will provide satellite capacity and related infrastructure, and SEALSQ will use that capacity to deliver planned quantum and post-quantum services using its secure semiconductor, cryptographic and trusted identity technologies.

For WISeSat.Space, it provides capital to advance its satellites and to build post-quantum security into its space, ground and user segments, SEALSQ says. Our focus is on translating this collaboration into commercial opportunities that support long-term value for SEALSQ shareholders. Space’s broader vision of establishing trust and sovereignty in space transactions, enabling secure interactions between independent space and terrestrial systems while strengthening the protection of critical digital assets.

This investment supports SEALSQ’s strategy to extend the application of our secure semiconductor, cryptographic and trusted identity technologies into space-based communications.

Ivy Delaney has been working with neural networks and machine learning since the mid-nineties, back when a couple of hidden layers and a long afternoon of training counted as ambitious. She has watched the field go from academic curiosity to the thing quietly running underneath everything, and she brings that long view to quantum computing. For Quantum Zeitgeist she covers the ground where the two fields meet. That means quantum machine learning and the variational algorithms it leans on, and it also means the less glamorous but more interesting story of classical machine learning already doing real work inside quantum machines, decoding error-correcting codes, calibrating noisy hardware and learning the error models that simulators depend on. She writes about the hardware those algorithms have to run on too, and about the post-quantum cryptography scramble that the same hardware has set off. Her stories typically start with the paper, whether that is peer-reviewed work, conference proceedings or an arXiv preprint, with the source linked so you can hold a claim up against the research it came from. She is unimpressed by benchmarks that will not say what they beat, and by demonstrations that only work in the press release.
