Amplify ETFs expanded its thematic ETF suite with the launch of the Amplify Top 10 Semiconductors ETF (CPU), a fund sub-advised by Samsung Asset Management. CPU concentrates investment in companies driving innovation across the semiconductor ecosystem, from chip design to manufacturing, and tracks the Bloomberg Top 10 Momentum Semiconductors Index.
This launch follows the August 19 release of four other “Top 10” ETFs focused on quantum computing, space, robotics and Asia memory. “The Top 10 approach is built around conviction, giving investors focused exposure to the companies driving the growth and evolution of a theme,” said Christian Magoon, CEO of Amplify ETFs.

This approach differs from broad semiconductor ETFs by concentrating investment in a select group of leaders, potentially amplifying returns but also increasing sector-specific risk. As of September 30, 2026, Amplify ETFs managed over $22 billion in assets, suggesting growing investor interest in these focused, thematic investment vehicles. Christian Magoon, CEO of Amplify ETFs, stated that semiconductors are essential to AI infrastructure buildout, as growing demand for computing power is driving investment in advanced chips, memory and the specialized technologies required to produce them.
The CPU fund aims to capture growth linked to increasing demand for computing power and the advanced technologies needed for chip production. Magoon also said that CPU is “designed to concentrate on the companies demonstrating leadership and momentum as that demand continues to grow.” This fund provides access to companies involved in chip design for artificial intelligence, automotive applications and the materials and equipment used in global chip manufacturing, offering investors a targeted exposure to the semiconductor ecosystem.
