QuintessenceLabs maps crypto use to speed quantum-safe shift

At this year’s Quantum World Congress Park, MD, QuintessenceLabs unveiled TSF Sentry, a cryptographic assessment tool that moves beyond simple vulnerability detection to offer automated remediation. The new capability, alongside the company’s Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Readiness Assessment, aims to provide organizations with a practical, risk-based path toward quantum-resistant security. “Knowing where you stand doesn’t make you quantum-safe – it just shows your vulnerabilities,” explains Andreas Baumhof, Chief Technology Officer at QuintessenceLabs, adding that TSF Sentry actively fixes problems, offering security leaders a clear path to action.

TSF Sentry Delivers Cryptographic Visibility to Automated Remediation

TSF Sentry prioritizes remediation by consolidating 782 individual Common Baseline Objectives and Metrics (CBOM) findings into just seven application-level priorities, allowing security teams to focus efforts where they yield the greatest impact. This capability moves beyond simple vulnerability detection, a key differentiator highlighted by the company’s chief technology officer, and addresses a critical gap in current cryptographic assessment tools, QuintessenceLabs says. QuintessenceLabs asserts that organizations cannot effectively plan their transition to post-quantum cryptography without first understanding where and how cryptography is being used across their environments.

The new tool exposes an application programming interface (API) designed to integrate remediation workflows seamlessly into existing enterprise automation frameworks, streamlining the process of addressing identified vulnerabilities. Rather than presenting security teams with a long list of individual cryptographic issues, TSF Sentry links those findings to the applications performing the cryptographic operations, enabling a more targeted and efficient response.

This approach is designed to help organizations build cryptographic agility and address the highest-priority risks first, while working within their existing technology environments. QuintessenceLabs’ Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Readiness Assessment provides a structured, risk-based blueprint, which aids organizations in prioritizing changes without disrupting operations. “PQC readiness is ultimately about making informed decisions about where to start, what needs to change, and how to manage that change without disrupting the business,” the company states. “TSF Sentry solves this by turning passive visibility into automated remediation.”

PQC Readiness Assessment Prioritizes Risk-Based Transition Planning

QuintessenceLabs detailed a structured approach to post-quantum cryptography transition planning with its PQC Readiness Assessment, offering organizations a blueprint to prioritize changes without disrupting operations. The assessment moves beyond simply identifying cryptographic weaknesses by evaluating current posture, pinpointing risks based on business and security impact, and charting a practical course toward quantum-resistant systems. TSF Sentry doesn’t merely locate cryptographic vulnerabilities; it automates remediation, connecting identified issues directly to the applications and systems requiring attention.

This capability addresses a critical gap, as organizations struggle to translate visibility into effective action. The company’s qStream generator sources entropy from a quantum process, a feature given that weak randomness undermines even the strongest cryptographic algorithms. This focus on foundational security elements underpins the company’s broader strategy, offering organizations a comprehensive approach to building cryptographic agility and addressing the highest-priority risks first. The combination of assessment and automated remediation aims to provide security leaders with a defined path from initial visibility to concrete, actionable improvements in their cryptographic defenses.

PQC readiness is ultimately about making informed decisions about where to start, what needs to change, and how to manage that change without disrupting the business.
