The Winter School is a four-day intensive introduction to the fascinating interdisciplinary field of quantum computing for high school and undergraduate students. The program is currently offered for FREE with the opportunity to learn in a classroom and a laboratory setting.
The program will introduce and cover the following topics: superposition and entanglement aspects, quantum gates coding and circuits using Microsoft’s quantum coding language, Q#, fundamentals of quantum algorithms, and protocols; and lastly, real-scenario applications of quantum technologies, focused on finance, climate change, and chemistry.
Students will master the fundamentals of quantum computing, including quantum mechanics, quantum circuits, and quantum algorithms and protocols, all while becoming acquainted with Microsoft’s quantum computing language, Q#.
Students will also have the opportunity to engage and hear from prominent quantum experts in the industry on career paths in quantum computing. They highly encourage students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds in STEM to apply because the program is committed to ensuring the future quantum workforce is diverse and inclusive. Students from HBCUs, MSIs, and community institutions are said to be given priority.
