PASQAL’s Quantum Roadmap Targets 10,000 Qubits by 2026 in Boost For Neutral Atom Qubits

PASQAL, a leader in neutral atoms quantum computing with a Nobel laureate among its staff, has announced a new technology roadmap focusing on business utility and scaling beyond 1,000 qubits. The company already delivers quantum computers with over 100 qubits and plans to reach 10,000 by 2026. The roadmap also highlights the development of hardware-accelerated algorithms in quantum materials, graph machine learning, optimization, and differential equations.

Co-CEO Loïc Henriet and CEO Georges-Olivier Reymond emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing quantum computing technology and fostering international collaboration. In 2024, PASQAL is already providing quantum computers with over 100 qubits to end users. This allows for the exploration of new use cases and encourages new software development. The company is working closely with over 50 customers and partners from Fortune 500 companies, and has identified hardware accelerated algorithms in quantum materials, graph machine learning, optimization, and differential equations. These algorithms are transitioning from the blueprint phase to development, with potential use in production environments starting in 2025.

Quantum Computing: Towards the Fault Tolerance Era

PASQAL’s roadmap indicates a goal of 10,000 qubits by 2026, with a scalable logical qubits architecture. Recent research has shown promising paths to Quantum Error Correction (QEC) for neutral atoms, bringing the era of fault-tolerant quantum computing closer for neutral atoms quantum computers.

Loïc Henriet, co-CEO of PASQAL, emphasized the company’s strong focus on engineering, which allows it to continuously improve the performance of its machines and provide stable and efficient solutions to its users.

Quantum Community and Quantum Discovery: PASQAL’s New Initiatives

PASQAL is launching its Quantum Community this year, a new initiative designed to build a global network of innovators, researchers, and industry leaders to foster collaboration and advancements in the quantum computing ecosystem. This platform will facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration, and also serve as a springboard for future quantum computing applications across various industries.

To further educate those interested in quantum tech, PASQAL offers Quantum Discovery, a cloud-based platform designed to introduce enterprises to neutral atoms quantum computing. Quantum Discovery helps business and tech leaders understand quantum fundamentals, experiment with PASQAL’s processors, and identify potential use cases within their organization.

Qadence: A Tool for Quantum Machine Learning

To support researchers and academics, PASQAL has launched Qadence, a Python library that simplifies the development of analog and digital-analog quantum programs, tailored for quantum machine learning. It merges digital and analog approaches for precision, offering a user-friendly interface and smooth transition from simulation to PASQAL’s neutral atom quantum computers.
