Check Point Receives Common Criteria EAL4+ Certification for Quantum Firewall Software R82
Check Point Software Technologies has achieved Common Criteria EAL4+ certification for its Quantum Firewall Software R82, a significant milestone in cybersecurity. This certification was granted following an independent evaluation by TV Informationstechnik GmbH, an accredited testing facility under the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The certification confirms that the software meets rigorous international security standards set forth by ISO/IEC 15408.
The Target of Evaluation (TOE) includes Check Point’s Security Gateway, which manages network traffic and enforces security policies, as well as its Security Management system. Additionally, the Maestro Orchestrator configuration is part of the TOE, enabling centralized management of security infrastructure across distributed networks. These components work together to provide comprehensive protection against a wide range of cyber threats.
The certification process also verified the inclusion of augmentation components ALC_FLR.1 and AVA_VAN.4. ALC_FLR.1 ensures that the system can handle failures gracefully, while AVA_VAN.4 focuses on maintaining availability during attacks. Together, these features strengthen the overall security posture of the Quantum Firewall Software R82.
Recognized under the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) and the SOGIS Multilateral Agreement (MLA), this certification enables deployment across over 30 countries. This global recognition underscores Check Point’s commitment to delivering reliable and effective cybersecurity solutions that meet international standards.
