Infleqtion, a leader in neutral-atom–based quantum technology, has filed for a public listing through a $540 million deal with Churchill Capital Corp X. The proposed business combination is expected to deliver over $125 million in incremental capital from investors. Upon completion, Infleqtion will be the first publicly listed company specializing in neutral-atom quantum technology.
Infleqtion and Churchill X Propose $540 Million Business Combination
Infleqtion and Churchill Capital Corp X filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on January 6, 2026, detailing their planned business combination. This follows a confidential draft submission from October 29, 2025, and moves the companies closer to becoming a publicly traded entity. The deal is projected to generate $540 million in gross proceeds, with over $125 million coming from a stock purchase agreement with investors. The combined company, to be named Infleqtion, Inc. and trading under the symbol “INFQ”, aims to lead in both quantum computing and precision sensing.
Infleqtion recently achieved 12 logical qubits with error correction—exceeding a 2026 goal—and is working with NVIDIA to integrate quantum architecture with AI systems. They also demonstrated a quantum optical clock for underwater navigation and secured a U.S. Army contract focused on resilient positioning technology.
Neutral-Atom Technology Drives Quantum Computing & Precision Sensing
This dual-purpose platform allows Infleqtion to serve diverse applications—from advanced computation to highly accurate measurements. Beyond computing, Infleqtion’s technology powers a range of precision sensors, including quantum clocks and RF receivers, with a recent demonstration of the world’s first quantum optical clock designed for underwater autonomous navigation. They are also collaborating with the U.S. Army’s “SAPIENT” program to develop secure positioning systems that function even when GPS is unavailable, and with Safran to create resilient timing solutions expected in early 2026. These developments highlight the practical applications of neutral-atom technology in real-world scenarios.
Upon closing, Infleqtion will become the first publicly listed neutral-atom quantum technology company and the only public company with commercial leadership across both quantum computing and precision sensing.
Qubit Advancement & Key Strategic Partnerships
Infleqtion is advancing qubit technology by achieving 12 logical qubits with error detection and correction, exceeding a previously set 2026 goal. This accomplishment places the company ahead of schedule on its roadmap toward delivering 1,000 logical qubits by 2030, a significant milestone for quantum computing power. This progress is supported by collaboration with NVIDIA, integrating Infleqtion’s NVQLink quantum architecture with GPU-accelerated AI systems. Strategic partnerships are central to Infleqtion’s growth, including collaborations with the U.S. Department of War, NASA, and the U.K.’s Royal Navy.
A partnership with Silicon Light Machines focuses on improving quantum computer performance, while another with Safran Electronics & Defense targets resilient timing solutions for availability in early 2026. These relationships demonstrate a focus on real-world applications, spanning autonomous navigation and secured positioning systems.
