Bechtle Becomes First Reseller Partner for IQM Quantum Computers

Bechtle, Germany’s largest IT system house, has signed a reseller agreement with IQM Quantum Computers, a global leader in building quantum computers. This partnership enables Bechtle to sell IQM Spark, a 5-qubit superconducting quantum computer, to customers in the European Union and Switzerland. IQM Spark has already been deployed to several end-users, including the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Germany.

With this agreement, Bechtle becomes the first reseller partner for IQM Spark and will provide sales and support for customers. The company aims to integrate quantum computing services into existing processes, not only in the IT sector but also in industries, academia, and the public sector. Mikko Välimäki, Co-CEO of IQM Quantum Computers, stated that this partnership will strengthen their sales network and reinforce their commitment to the European market.

Christian Behma, Managing Director of Bechtle IT System House Bonn/Cologne, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, which will offer customers entrepreneurial and technologically excellent solutions in the promising field of quantum computing.

Partnership for Quantum Computing: Bechtle and IQM Join Forces

The recent partnership between Bechtle, Germany’s largest IT system house, and IQM Quantum Computers, a global leader in building quantum computers, marks a significant milestone in the adoption of quantum computing technology. This reseller agreement enables Bechtle to sell IQM Spark, an on-premises 5-qubit superconducting quantum computer, to its customers in the European Union and Switzerland.

The partnership is expected to strengthen Bechtle’s competence team for quantum technology at its Bonn site, with technical engineers already undergoing training at the IQM Academy. This training will equip them with the necessary skills to install, service, and provide maintenance support for end-users of IQM Spark. By integrating quantum computing services into existing processes, Bechtle aims to provide its customers with a competitive advantage in high-performance computing (HPC) algorithms.

IQM Spark has already been deployed to various end-users, including the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Germany. This partnership will further expand IQM’s sales network and reinforce its commitment to the European market. As Mikko Välimäki, Co-CEO of IQM Quantum Computers, stated, “We are pleased that Bechtle chose IQM as a partner for its quantum projects, and its customers from the industrial, academic, and public sectors will get access to our systems to start their quantum journey.”

The Rise of Quantum Computing in Europe

The partnership between Bechtle and IQM highlights the growing interest in quantum computing technology in Europe. As universities, research laboratories, and industries increasingly adopt quantum computing, there is a rising demand for on-premises quantum computers like IQM Spark. This 5-qubit superconducting quantum computer offers a promising solution for accelerating HPC algorithms, providing users with a competitive advantage.

The European market presents a significant opportunity for companies like IQM, which has already established itself as a leader in the field of quantum computing. With offices in Espoo, Munich, Paris, Warsaw, Madrid, Singapore, and Palo Alto, IQM is well-positioned to cater to the growing demand for quantum computing technology.

Bechtle’s Quantum Ambitions

Bechtle, one of Europe’s leading IT providers, has identified quantum computing as a promising technology with significant potential. By partnering with IQM, Bechtle aims to strengthen its competence team for quantum technology and provide its customers with access to cutting-edge solutions. As Christian Behma, Managing Director of Bechtle IT System House Bonn/Cologne, stated, “We are very much looking forward to a trusting and future-oriented collaboration to offer our joint customers entrepreneurial and technologically excellent solutions in the promising field of quantum computing.”

Bechtle’s strategy involves integrating quantum computing services into existing processes, not only in the IT sector. This approach is expected to provide its customers with a competitive advantage in various industries, from high-performance computing to materials science.

The Future of Quantum Computing

The partnership between Bechtle and IQM marks an important step towards the widespread adoption of quantum computing technology. As more companies like Bechtle invest in quantum computing, the industry is expected to experience significant growth. With its comprehensive portfolio of IT infrastructure and IT operation solutions, Bechtle is well-positioned to support this growth.

IQM’s commitment to providing both on-premises full-stack quantum computers and a cloud platform to access its computers anywhere in the world demonstrates its dedication to making quantum computing accessible to a broader audience. As the industry continues to evolve, partnerships like the one between Bechtle and IQM will play a crucial role in driving innovation and adoption.
