Tech Mahindra, a leading global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Auckland to drive innovation in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum computing. This collaboration will accelerate research and innovation across various industries, including healthcare, banking, financial services, and insurance, as well as cooperation with the government sector. The partnership aims to enhance the employability of University of Auckland graduates by integrating academic data resources and expert research insights to develop industry use cases for global markets.

Harshvendra Soin, President – Asia Pacific and Japan Business at Tech Mahindra, emphasized the immense potential of AI and quantum computing to revolutionize industries. Partha Roop, Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Associate Dean International at the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Engineering, highlighted the university’s expertise in AI and post-quantum security, as well as its agility and world-leading research capabilities.

The collaboration will focus on cutting-edge technologies such as spiking neural networks, 1-bit LLMs, and quantum security through post-quantum cryptography. Additionally, Tech Mahindra and the University of Auckland will leverage AI and quantum ML in healthcare, with applications including drug discovery and digital biomarkers for personalized therapy.

Accelerating Innovation in AI, ML, and Quantum Computing through Industry-Academia Collaboration

The recent memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tech Mahindra, a global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions, and the University of Auckland, New Zealand’s top-ranked university, marks a significant milestone in driving innovation in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and quantum computing. The partnership will introduce Generative AI and its benefits to Indigenous communities and offer internships at Tech Mahindra, providing potential candidates with the opportunity to learn AI, ML, and other emerging technologies.
