Qblox, Maybell, Quantware Unveil Full-Stack Quantum System in Record 48 Hours at APS 2024

Qblox, Maybell, and Quantware have collaborated to create a full-stack quantum computer system, which was built in just two days and showcased at the APS March Meeting 2024. The system includes quantum devices, a 10mK cryostat, and control electronics. The advanced technologies used include the Maybell Fridge, QuantWare Soprano chip, and Qblox Cluster control electronics. CEOs Niels Bultink (Qblox), Corban Tillemann-Dick (Maybell Quantum), and Matthijs Rijlaarsdam (QuantWare) expressed their pride and commitment to accelerating the development of quantum technology.

Quantum Computing Companies Showcase Full-Stack Quantum System at APS March Meeting 2024

Qblox, Maybell, and Quantware, three companies operating in the quantum computing industry, recently demonstrated a full-stack quantum computer at the APS March Meeting 2024. This marked the first time such a system has been showcased at a conference. The system, which was installed over a weekend, includes quantum devices, a 10mK cryostat, and the necessary control electronics to perform live qubit operations on the conference floor.

The system is a combination of advanced technologies from each of the three companies. It features the Maybell Fridge, the QuantWare Soprano chip, and the Qblox Cluster control electronics. This collaboration is a testament to the companies’ dedication to innovation, partnership, and the development of plug-and-play solutions for the quantum computing ecosystem.

Niels Bultink, CEO of Qblox, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating that the demonstration marked a new chapter in the quantum technology value chain. Corban Tillemann-Dick, CEO of Maybell Quantum, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Maybell’s commitment to making quantum technology more accessible. Matthijs Rijlaarsdam, CEO of QuantWare, highlighted the rapid pace of technological maturation in the quantum computing industry.

As the Official Quantum Dog (or hound) by role is to dig out the latest nuggets of quantum goodness. There is so much happening right now in the field of technology, whether AI or the march of robots. But Quantum occupies a special space. Quite literally a special space. A Hilbert space infact, haha! Here I try to provide some of the news that might be considered breaking news in the Quantum Computing space.
