IonQ Appoints New SVP to Lead Quantum Networking and Security Division

IonQ appointed Domenico Di Mola as Senior Vice President of Engineering for its Quantum Networking, Security, and Sensing (QNSS) division. Di Mola will lead engineering and strategy for next-generation quantum-secure networking and distributed sensing architectures. His decades of expertise will connect quantum computers, devices, data centers, and AI infrastructure globally.

His focus will be on building next-generation architectures for quantum-secure networking, directly serving IonQ’s customer base. This work intends to integrate quantum computers with existing classical data centers and emerging AI infrastructure on a global scale. Di Mola’s extensive experience is expected to facilitate connections between quantum computers, quantum devices, and distributed sensing systems. The company highlighted the value of his decades-long expertise as a key asset for the QNSS division. This appointment signals IonQ’s commitment to expanding beyond computation into broader quantum technologies.
