Horizon Quantum Computing to Launch Unique Testbed with Rigetti and Quantum Machines

Horizon Quantum Computing, led by CEO Dr. Joe Fitzsimons, is establishing a unique testbed to integrate its software stack, Triple Alpha, with quantum computing hardware. The testbed will be located at Horizon’s Singapore headquarters and will host multiple quantum computers. The first system will use a Novera™ quantum processor from Rigetti Computing and a processor-based quantum controller from Quantum Machines. The integrated system is expected to be operational by early 2025. This move makes Horizon one of the first pure-play quantum software companies to operate their quantum computers.

Horizon Quantum Computing’s Innovative Hardware Testbed

Horizon Quantum Computing, a firm specializing in the development of software tools for quantum computers, has announced plans to establish a unique testbed for integrating quantum computing hardware with its software stack, Triple Alpha. The testbed will be located at Horizon’s headquarters in Singapore and will have the capacity to accommodate multiple quantum computers. This move will make Horizon one of the first pure-play quantum software companies to operate their quantum computers, providing them with complete control over both hardware and software stacks and enabling them to push the boundaries of quantum computing.

The testbed’s design is characterized by a modular multi-vendor approach. Instead of relying on a single-vendor solution, Horizon has intentionally chosen top-tier components from various providers. This modularity allows Horizon to integrate its software stack with different hardware configurations and upgrade the system over time.

Collaborative Effort for Quantum Computing Advancement

The first system to be installed in the testbed will be based on a Novera™ quantum processor from Rigetti Computing and OPX1000, a processor-based quantum controller from Quantum Machines. The integrated system is expected to be operational by early 2025.

Dr Joe Fitzsimons, Founder & CEO of Horizon Quantum Computing, expressed his excitement about the collaboration with Rigetti Computing and Quantum Machines. He emphasized the importance of tight integration between hardware and software for the advancement of quantum computing. Dr Subodh Kulkarni, CEO of Rigetti Computing, and Dr Itamar Sivan, co-founder and CEO of Quantum Machines, also expressed their enthusiasm about the partnership and the potential of the integrated system.

The Triple Alpha Software Stack

Horizon’s Triple Alpha is a web-based integrated development environment (IDE) and compiler suite. It is designed to work seamlessly with the Novera™ quantum processor from Rigetti Computing and OPX1000, the processor-based quantum controller from Quantum Machines. The Triple Alpha software stack is a key component of Horizon’s strategy to make quantum computing accessible to every software developer by simplifying and speeding up the process of developing software for quantum computers.

About Horizon Quantum Computing

Horizon Quantum Computing was founded in 2018 by Dr Joe Fitzsimons, a former professor with two decades of experience in quantum computing and computational complexity theory. The company’s leadership team also includes Dr Si-Hui Tan, Chief Science Officer, who holds a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT and has been actively involved in quantum research for the same period. The company is committed to developing a new generation of programming tools to simplify and expedite the process of developing software for quantum computers. By removing the need for prior quantum computing experience to develop applications for quantum hardware, Horizon’s tools are making the power of quantum computing accessible to every software developer.

Quantum News

There is so much happening right now in the field of technology, whether AI or the march of robots. Adrian is an expert on how technology can be transformative, especially frontier technologies. But Quantum occupies a special space. Quite literally a special space. A Hilbert space infact, haha! Here I try to provide some of the news that is considered breaking news in the Quantum Computing and Quantum tech space.
