Canada Invests $8.1 Million In Quantum Tech Development In Sherbrooke

The Government of Canada has invested over $8.1 million in Sherbrooke’s quantum sector, supporting four organizations—Distriq, PINQ2, ACET, and Nord Quantique—to advance the development, adoption, and commercialization of quantum technologies.

These investments aim to strengthen Quebec’s position as a global hub for quantum innovation while aligning with Canada’s National Quantum Strategy, which seeks to enhance the country’s leadership in this emerging field. The funding will enable Distriq to acquire equipment for quantum research, PINQ2 and Distriq to support Québec Quantique initiatives, ACET to provide incubation services for quantum startups, and Nord Quantique to develop error-correcting quantum computers.
